Luke has heard of that happening, of people remembering things that occurred after their arrival in Darrow, but he's never known anyone personally who has been through it. From time to time he's wished he could remember, mostly so he can know for certain, feel it in his bones that both Jocelyn and Clary are safe, but he'd taken Magnus at his word and had decided it's better to believe than to worry.
But to actually remember is something else entirely.
Valentine. Somehow he isn't surprised to find he's behind all of this and while he still doesn't know who Sebastian is, he can only imagine what he's capable of if he's in league with a man like Valentine.
"He brought down the wards," he says, wondering how that's even possible. "And he... Isabelle, I'm so sorry." He doesn't doubt what she's saying because he knows Valentine, he knows how awful he is, what lengths he'll go to in order to get what he wants. That includes doing away with any Shadowhunters who get in his way.
