"It's nothing bad," Reid says immediately, though he realizes now that probably does make it sound worse. He just isn't sure how to go about doing this, he's never had to tell anyone he's getting married before and it's not as if there's a guidebook. Well, actually, there might be, but Reid hadn't thought to look for one before coming here.
Shifting in his chair, his hands having found a napkin he's now shredding into bit, Reid can't help but laugh as he rolls his eyes at himself. "I don't know why I'm nervous about this, it doesn't make sense, so I'm just going to say it. Luke and I are getting married. I asked him last month, on his birthday, and... well, obviously he said yes."
It's like a weight being lifted off his shoulders. Keeping their engagement a secret hasn't been a chore, but he's wanted to tell at least their closest friends for weeks now. He'd taken to talking about it to random strangers instead, which somehow hadn't been quite as satisfying.
